1891 Microscope – E Leitz Wetzlar
They don’t make them like this anymore. Maybe today’s scopes have better optics and might be less expensive, comparatively, but they certainly don’t come in brass.
Nor do today’s microscopes come in a mahogany case with inlay in the door.
The microscope itself was in good condition, all that was needed was to remove the eroded lacquer, polish the brass and put on a new coat of lacquer.
The case, well, the case was badly damaged, missing the front foot of the case, which I replaced.
