This simple table – essentially four side pieces connected to four legs – is suitable for sofa-side or bedside duty.
Alder frames the side plywood pieces, the legs are fir.
I built this to host a 100 year old cash register, a task which it performs admirably.
It sports a raised lip about the top periphery to prevent the cash register from sliding when the cash drawer is opened and shut. The table is stained with red oak and finished with shellac as is in keeping with the period.
