This reliquary is suitable for all your solemn treasures, and not just the cat. Egyptian grave goods, sacred Coptic pop-tops, Hopi medicine, Kit-Kat stash, Slim-Jim storehouse, the usual.
Formed from a deep grained I don’t know what kind of reddish hardwood, but it has the 3-dimensional feel of looking to the bottom of a clear stream. The box corners are mitered and splined for extra strength in repelling untoward Succumbii.
The trim is alder and the base is birch ply.
The inside of the lid is inlaid with cedar, within, the reliquary is banded with two strips of yellow pine inlay, all – except the cedar, which needs to breathe – is hand rubbed with tung oil.
