Product Description
Having vowed to learn how to play chess, it occurred to me that having a chess board would be useful.
A removable board on-board a case with drawers in which to store the chess pieces.
Pieces that are abstract, stylistic; I being no carver, the kings do not resemble Henry VIII or the queen Eleanor of Aquitaine.
In making these chess pieces, I recalled a marble and onyx set my father brought back from a Mexico business trip circa 1968. The handsome green and white players hand carved with a blocky, but beguiling flair. Wish I had that set, but he gave it to my brother….
The playing surface is removable from the case should taking it on a hike be deemed desirable.
